About the race:
About the event: This event was inspired by First Lady Michelle Obama's initiative to fight childhood obesity. Our bodies are God's temple. 1 Corinthians 6:19 reads, "...do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?" We at First Baptist Church are committed to taking care of the temple.
Pastor James Goolsby invites you to walk or run with him to raise awareness about childhood obesity, and encourage people from all ages to be healthy and live a more active lifestyle. A free health and fitness expo will take place for race participants and members of the general public. Local health care and fitness professionals will be available to offer free health care screenings, free samples, and give demonstrations and showcase their services.
About the 5K course: The race will start at and finish in Central City Park - the course will wind through the beautiful and scenic park.
